Philly Gas Exchange
Data Protection

Privacy Policy.

01. Our Data Philosophy

The Philly Gas Exchange operates on a principle of minimal data retention. Unlike large industrial conglomerates, we do not view your browsing habits or gas requirements as a product to be sold. We collect only what is necessary to connect regional users with regional suppliers, ensuring the economic health of the Philadelphia industrial community.

02. Information Acquisition

We acquire data through two primary channels to maintain the integrity of our regional marketplace facilitation:

A. Voluntary Disclosure

When you fill out a marketplace inquiry or contact form, we store your name, email, and specific gas needs. This information is passed to the relevant local supplier to fulfill your request and is stored in our secure database for quality assurance purposes and communication history.

B. Passive Technical Data

Like most modern web platforms, we collect basic, non-identifying technical data such as IP addresses (anonymized), browser types, and referring pages. This helps us optimize site performance, ensure ADA compliance functionality, and protect the Exchange from malicious digital activity.

03. Usage and Third-Party Sharing

Your information is shared exclusively with participating independent suppliers within our network for the sole purpose of providing quotes or fulfilling inventory requests. We do not participate in cross-site tracking or sell mailing lists to third-party advertisers or data brokers.

Please note: Once you navigate away from the Philly Gas Exchange to a supplier's own website or contact them directly via phone, you are subject to their independent privacy protocols. We vet our partners for integrity, but we do not control their internal data storage practices.

04. Security Infrastructure

We employ SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption for all data transmission. Our databases are hosted on secured servers with restricted access protocols. While we take every reasonable precaution to protect the community, no system is impenetrable, and users acknowledge that they provide information at their own risk.

05. Digital Sovereignty (Your Rights)

We respect your right to control your digital footprint. Under our policy, you may at any time:

  • Request a comprehensive report of any personal data we hold regarding your inquiries.
  • Request the immediate and permanent deletion of your contact information from our active databases.
  • Opt-out of any future community updates or regional marketplace notifications.

06. Contact and Grievances

For all inquiries regarding data protection, digital accessibility, or privacy concerns, please contact our dedicated oversight team directly:
